Percentage revenue growth: 495
Making Albuquerque Business First’s Fastest Growing Companies list is one thing, making it year after year after year is another.
Making its third straight appearance on our list is P4Q USA, a Spanish company specializing in the manufacturing of automotive and solar products and systems. The company opened its North American headquarters in Albuquerque in 2012. The company has 30 employees.
According to numbers provided by the company, P4Q grew 495 percent since 2013. The co-founders originally named the company P4Q for “Pizza 4 quesos” while indulging in pizza. The name has taken on a new meaning.
“P4Q stands for ‘Professionals For Quality’ and it is this focus on quality relationships with our stakeholders that help us to manufacture quality products and experiences,” said P4Q Secretary Jared Matts. “We focus on quality, not only the quality of the products we produce, but of the work that goes into all aspects of the factory, and the quality of the environment in which we work. We focus on global competition, commitment to do right by others — our vendors, our customers and our employees.”
The company said one struggle it has had has been finding the right people, specifically qualified technicians.
While P4Q doesn’t have any immediate plans for expansion or hiring, it is currently in the process of beginning production of its solar products in the near future.
One of the company’s products, the Suntrack device, mounts to panels, points solar panels at the sun, allowing them to capture more energy.
The company thinks New Mexico is primed to be a leader is renewable energy.
“New Mexico is perfect for solar and we need to make sure the proper environment is nurtured to grow this sector of our economy,” said Matts. “With robust tax incentives and credits, and public ad campaigns focused on how the renewable energy industry can be New Mexico’s future, New Mexico can become independent of our dependence on government spending.”
The company’s best piece of advice? “Continue to persist even when times are tough.”
Pretty good advice for a company that has made our list for three years running.
